This is a wonderful piece of early native American Utilitarian Folk Art. It is a weaved Storage or food basket with a great looking geometric pattern. I am attributing this to the Pomo Indians of the US West Coast circa 1880s/1910 period. It is early and shows some use signs and a few broken reeds, but is still in great highly collectible condition (see Pics)
Original native American Baskets are getting very tough to find as they are aggressively sought after by collectors today. This basket came from a Paw Paw Michigan estate and is new to the market. It is approx. 7 5/8 inches tall and 10 1/4 inches in Diameter.
An attribution is at best and educated, researched "Best Guess" and should not be taken as solid fact.
